RhoVeR: Building the Second Generation of Parallel/Distributed Virtual Reality Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present the RhoVeR (Rhodes Virtual Reality) system and classify it as a second generation Parallel/Distributed Virtual Reality (DVR) system. We discuss the components of the system and thereby demonstrate its support for Virtual Reality application development, its conngurable, parallel and distributed nature, and its synthesis of rst generation DVR techniques.

Static Task Allocation in Distributed Systems Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm
Over the past two decades, PC speeds have increased from a few instructions per second to several million instructions per second. The tremendous speed of today's networks as well as the increasing need for high-performance systems has made researchers interested in parallel and distributed computing. The rapid growth of distributed systems has led to a variety of problems. Task allocation is a...
متن کاملA New Load-Flow Method in Distribution Networks based on an Approximation Voltage-Dependent Load model in Extensive Presence of Distributed Generation Sources
Power-flow (PF) solution is a basic and powerful tool in power system analysis. Distribution networks (DNs), compared to transmission systems, have many fundamental distinctions that cause the conventional PF to be ineffective on these networks. This paper presents a new fast and efficient PF method which provides all different models of Distributed Generations (DGs) and their operational modes...

This paper presents a detailed overall view about research done in Distributed Virtual Reality using multiprocessor systems. It results from an extensive survey in the world{ wide existing News system made in the very beginning of 1993 and by a search through the relevant literature. Therefore the most important Parallel Computing concepts are introduced.

متن کاملTowards Energy Efficient Parallel Computing on Consumer Electronic Devices
In the last two decades supercomputers have sustained a remarkable growth in performance that even out-performed the predictions of Moore’s law, primarily due to increased levels of parallelism [19]. As industry and academia try to come up with viable approaches for exascale systems, attention turns to energy efficiency as the primary design consideration. At the same time, energy efficiency ha...
